ReliableRatingGal| This is a good book for an introductory level course/self-study program. It breaks down the terminology by body system (one body system per chapter), so you know what parts of the body to relate the terms to as you progress through the book. This book is nicely organized, easy to follow, and easy to understand. It is extremely helpful if you are entering the medical field. It has flashcards in the back of the book that help you test yourself, but they are not indispensable. You could make them yourself. It is by far one of the best introductory texts available. Sonia Sharma| I was not expecting this book to be so helpful. This book breaks down medical terms into root words. This means that as long as you know the root, you will be able to understand new medical terms (even if they are not in the book!). ![]() I was surprised how much I learned from this book. It has excellent coverage of all fields of medicine. The book has flashcards, but the real strength is the practice exercises. I sometimes refer back to the book (instead of a dictionary) because it tells you why the word is used. This book is good for anyone wanting to learn some medical terminology on their own. The chapters are manageable; I was able to work through all of the exercises in a month.
